A True Care 247 carer holding an older woman close in her own front room

Personal, dependable home care

A small, family-run team in Altrincham. One carer matched to one family, and the truth about what we can do.

Talk to us about care

About us

We started True Care 247 because we had already done this at home, for someone we love — and we knew how rarely it is done properly.

“We would rather turn work away than take on more than we can do properly.”

Why families choose us

Care that works from the front door inwards

The same carer, not a rota of strangers

We match on personality and routine as much as on skills, and you meet your carer before care starts. Continuity is the whole point.

An hour is our minimum, never fifteen minutes

Enough time to do the task properly and still have a conversation. Rushed care is not care, and we would rather say no than pretend.

A plan you helped write, reviewed regularly

You and your family are in the room when the care plan is written, and we come back to it — not just when something goes wrong.

A person answers the phone

A small office in Altrincham, not a call centre. You will get to know the people who arrange your care by name.

How we work

Six steps, and you can stop at any of them

  1. 01

    You get in touch

A phone call or a form. We listen, we tell you honestly whether we are the right fit, and there is nothing to sign.

    • No obligation
    • Honest answer
  2. 02

    We visit and assess

Free, no obligation, in the home. We look at the needs, the risks, the stairs, the routine — and we meet the family.

    • Free visit
    • Risk assessment
  3. 03

We write the care plan together

You are in the room when it is written. Then you get it in writing, with a costed quotation. We do not publish prices because we do not know your needs yet.

    • Written quotation
    • You are in the room
  4. 04

    We match the right carer

On personality and routine, not just availability. You meet them before care starts, and you can say no.

    • Matched on personality
    • Meet them first
  5. 05

    Care starts

We check in during the first week, because the first week is when small things need fixing.

    • First-week check-in
    • Named coordinator
  6. 06

    We review, and keep reviewing

Needs change. The plan changes with them, and you always know who to call when something is not right.

    • Regular reviews
    • Plan changes with you

The assessment visit is free, and there is nothing to sign.

We come to the house, we take an hour or so, and you get a written quotation afterwards. If we are not the right fit we will say so and point you somewhere better.

Testimonials

In their words, not ours

Mum had the same two carers for eighteen months. They knew how she took her tea and they knew when something was wrong before we did.
PlaceholderDaughter, Altrincham
What struck me was that they told us what they could not do, as well as what they could. Nobody else had done that.
PlaceholderSon, Sale
The assessment visit was an hour and a half and it did not feel like a sales call once.
PlaceholderWife, Hale

Not live yet. These are placeholders at the right length and tone so the layout can be judged. Real reviews arrive through our review form and replace these the moment one is approved — nothing appears until the person has consented to publication and we have approved it. The section is also built to pull live Google reviews; that needs access to the Google Business Profile.

For social workers, commissioners and discharge teams

A referral answered in hours, not weeks

We take referrals from local authorities, ICBs, hospital discharge teams, case managers and solicitors. You get a named contact, a written response and a costed proposal on a timetable you can plan around.

  • 2 working hoursWe acknowledge your referral
  • 1 working dayA named coordinator responds
  • 2 working daysA costed proposal, or an honest no

FAQs

The things people ring up about

If yours is not here, ring 0161 531 3233 and ask.

How much does home care cost?

We do not publish rates, because a price quoted before we have met you is a guess. After the free assessment you get a written quotation covering exactly what is included. There is no charge and no obligation up to that point.

What is the shortest visit you do?

One hour. Some agencies offer fifteen or thirty minutes; we do not, because it is not long enough to do the task properly and speak to the person as well.

Will it be the same carer every time?

That is what we build the rota around, and it is why we match carefully at the start. Holidays and sickness happen, and when they do we tell you in advance who is coming instead.

Can we meet the carer before care starts?

Yes, and we would encourage it. If the match is not right, say so and we will find someone else.

What happens outside office hours?

People already receiving care have an on-call number that reaches a real person. New enquiries reach voicemail and we call back the next working day. Anything urgent or medical should go to 999 or 111.

How quickly can care start?

Usually within a few days of the assessment, and faster for a hospital discharge. It depends on the match — we would rather take an extra day than send the wrong carer.

Are your carers DBS checked and trained?

Every carer has an enhanced DBS check, two references and a full induction before they work alone, plus ongoing training in the areas they support.

Do you work with the council or the NHS?

Yes. We take local authority and continuing healthcare funded packages as well as privately funded care, and we can tell you which route is worth exploring.
